After this season of basketball, the freshmen girls’ have something to brag about. Not everybody can say they’ve won 16 games, and only lost 4 games. Not only have the girls successfully won 16 games, they have also grown closer to each other, and now view each other as family.

“Coming into the season we were a really great team,” Maddie Sharar said.  ”We were bonding together, and getting used to playing together, and I think this was part of the reason that we had so many wins.”

To play basketball you have to be strong. Not just physically strong, but also mentally strong. You have to be prepared to loose, but have the attitude to win.

“One of the hardest games this season was against Unity Christian. They’re one of the better teams we played, and we had to be physically strong to play them because they were really strong,” Brogan McMahon said. “We ended up winning one of our games against them, so that helped us later in the season, because we knew that if we played them again, we could win.”

This season, every girl on the team had something in common: they came to win.

“These girls won games because they committed themselves to learning the game,” Coach Mary Ayres said.

Most of the team plans on playing basketball next year. So, they will be back and ready to win some more games, along with building their relationship even more.
