On Saturday the 19th of February, Hamilton’s Varsity and JV cheer teams competed in districts, placing last of the fourteen competing teams. Their scores consisted of 162.3 in the first round, 151.0362 in the second and 246.3 in the third round, with eight point penalties in the last two rounds.

According to Coach Krystal Shelton, the penalties “could have been prevented, but it’s not worth dwelling on.” They finished the competition with a total of 543.6362.

With this being their final competition of the season, Coach Shelton was sad to see it end.

“I’m just very proud of the girls,” said Coach Shelton, “they are such a young team and (I) hope they will all continue with cheerleading and come back next season. At least sideline is right around the corner.”
